[1000mp] mk v field & Icoms.

The metallic tape did eliminate the spur on the low bands, but did not
eliminate the spur when operating on 12m and 10m. Icom could not correct
this problem to my satisfaction, and gave me a full refund on the radio
several years after its purchase. Later, they introduced a fix that involved
reconfiguring the VFOs; a side effect of this reconfiguration is that QSK is
limited to 40 wpm or so. I have not evaluated a 775 with this later
correction, but understand from users that it is effective.

The problem with dual frequency radiation in the IC-775DSP was handled by an
Icom update. It simply corrects a shielding problem using metallic tape. I
have seen three IC-775 radios over time and all of them had the correction
already installed.

Happy Holidays Hans, et. al.,

The problem with the IC-775, if I remember correctly, is it puts out a low
power signal on the RX VFO when operating split. So, if you are calling
split, your signal is heard on the DX frequency. On low bands, this can be
very annoying, as the DX may be weaker than the stray signal feed through
from the "Wrong VFO".
