The majority of my activity is DXing and contesting.  It was a hopeless
cause when trying to locate the split pileup on CW with the sub receiver
and its 500 Hz Collins mechanical filter because it sounded like you were
listening to the entire band and you could not pick out any individual
station.  As I said before, it made a tremendous difference when I
replaced that filter with the INRAD 400 Hz xtal filter.

Each individual has his own tastes, obviously.
