Mike you are correct!!, the FT-857D has the dsp included the FT-897D
includes the TCXO according to Yaesu's website.

The "D" meant DSP included. I could be wrong but I can't
find anything saying the TCXO is included from the factory.

I beleive they are now sold as a "D" with the tcxo built in.
