I have decided to do the W8JI mod so will have to sort out a day

I would only add that for the Mark V, at least, W8JI has settled on
fixed
component values that he feels give good results, which did away with
a lot
of my reluctance to attack it by myself. There is a step by step
procedure
on his web site which should even enable me to do it successfully.
