[1000mp] MP RX TR relay repaired

A month or so ago I wrote to see if there was some wider experience
with my intermittent MP receiver problem. It would start getting
intermittent on receive after an hour or so and became worse and
worse over a couple of months. It appears there has been some
discussion of relay problems on the reflector but none seemed to be
directly related to MY specific issue.

I finally ordered a service manual to review the circuitry to try
and isolate the problem theoretically. Since the direct (RX in)
port remained functional I decided that it HAD to be the TR
relay (or associated driver circuitry).

A relay was ordered and finally replaced yesterday and the
radio seems happy again. The bad relay measures anywhere
from 6K to 20K ohms on the RX path (NC contacts)--so it is
clearly the culprit.

At least in MY case the failure was the obvious, electro-mechanical
component and there was nothing particularly esoteric about the
fault.

Thanks to those who made suggestions about the problem. Just
glad it was so simple to repair.
