[1000mp] FT-1000mp will not switch - FIXED - that was it!!!

I have a Heil headset too, and it works fine but also had a very poorly
soldered mic connector. It didn't work out of the box, and I had to take the
connector apart and redo it. Heil has good stuff, but they really need to do
something about those connectors!

Thanks for all the help. It was the mic plug. It is a Heil headset with no
PTT, but an extra wire in the plug had flexed and broken and was shorted
to ground.
