[1000mp] Opening up the AM filters

Hi,

Re. my previous mail regarding the FM narrow filter, checking the spec =
against other rigs ie FT847, IC706 which have an FM (Wide) / FM(Narrow) =
switch, it would seem that the 1000mp FM filter is equivalent to the =
narrow filters available in these rigs ....so I guess I've answered my =
own question and perhaps the MP was ahead of it's time.

On AM , I have noticed the audio quality not quite as good as some older =
equipment, this is due to the narrow filter which gives 4Khz for -6dBw. =
Does anyone know how this can be widened, perhaps in the menu setting to =
improve audio quality on AM when no qrm is around.
