[1000mp] lit up like a Christmas tree

Im not sure if my friend KE9I is going to post any messages on this......He
is really disgusted with Yaesu repair right now. However I am curious if
this problem has ever occured with any of you out there and what the
solution ended up being.

Has anyone out there experienced an MP that lights up all the lights on the
display, buttons etc and shown no control from any of the functions or
keyboard?  The radio was most recently out to W6-land for a cw problem.  The
Yaesu people had the radio on and I guess fixed or didnt notice any problems
(per report we had it running for 2 days to make sure it was running ok)(no
report of any parts replaced on the invoice apparently).  When it was
returned and plugged in nothing worked, everything was lit.  Any thoughts
other than cussing Yaesu?
