Because I was unable to find an obvious reason for my FT 1000MP's lack =
of
signal/audio, I sent it to Burghart for repair. It is a long way to =
South
Dakota from south Texas but so is California.

There has been an ongoing thread regarding what causes these FT1000 MPs =
to
lose signal. In the case of my radio, it was several things. Mostly bad
solder connections on the AF board. They also reseated all the ribbon
cables, soldered and tensioned all signal connectors IF, local, control, =
and
AF. Finally, they rechecked the output, sensitivity, and frequency.

Since the problem was intermittent they let it run for several days to =
be
sure that nothing else showed up.

They had done a system reset so I had to reset all of my menu settings =
but
fortunately and had those in my file.

It took 16 days from the date it was shipped until I had it back in my
hands, and is working well. That qualifies for kudos in my book.
