[1000mp] Bad Antenna Relay?

I have to go with the bad relay. I have a 1000MP purchased in May 1998. I
have had this RX intermittency occasionally over the last 5 years. At first
I thought it was my antenna. It just coincided with my 12/17 mtr antenna a
lot. Sometimes my 160 mtr. antenna. Never associated it with the A/B switch
since I rarely use it. Whenever I momentarily keyed the PTT, the RX signal
levels were restored and noise level came up audibly.

I thought that I had some insect nests in my A3WS traps...again! So down
came the beam and out came the air compressor. To be sure, I have a certain
breed of spiders that get into Cushcraft traps and leave grass strands.
This usually shows up as a TX VSWR problem however. There were times when
the RX was quiet and the TX VSWR was low when the quick PTT restored the RX.

Also, I have never installed any filters. Never touched the IF board, or
any other board in the radio. Never had the covers off.
