[1000mp] Front End protection really needed?

Hello All,

Wondering if anyone has ever blown the front end of the FT-1000MP while using 
the separate receive antenna jack on the FT-1000MP?

I have a 160 meter loop receive only antenna and a 160 meter linear loaded 
sloper.  Planning to run them on the MP, do I really need a front end protection 
or is the MP adequate?  I run full legal on 160.
