I don't know if the MK V antenna connections are like the MP... If so,
check the wire connection from your SO239 antenna sockets to the PCB..
They have a nasty habit of breaking the solder joint on the PCB, creating
 an intermittant connection, just like a "sticky" relay.
The SO239 mounting plate is not screwed to  the main back panel, and
flexes inwards when you push home the PL259 plugs.
This can break the solder joint....It's a good idea to replace the stiff
wire
from the SO239 with a multistrand(and therefore flexible) wire.
 This is a very common problem on FT1000MPs..
