[1000mp] MP Rcvr lost its zip- revisited

Thanks for all the comments. It seems like this is a fairly common =
problem
with multiple and/or indeterminate causes. I do think that I am =
fortunate to
have had the problem stop being intermittent.

After reading the responses, I opened the box to see if there were any
obvious problems. There weren't. So I decided to send it to Burghardt =
for
repair. (I have used them to fix my key clicks, earlier.) I talked to =
David
and his first question was, "Have you been using a beverage?" He said =
that
he had seen several that had diodes out due to excessive rf pickup from
beverage antennas. I had, indeed, used a beverage last winter so maybe =
this
is it.

We'll see. If that is indeed the problem, I need to find a way to keep =
this
from happening again. I still have 5 zones to work on 80 and my sloper =
and I
don't hear too well.
