[1000mp] MP and PSK

I have a plain vanilla 1000MP, but I believe that the hookup should be the 
same with the MK-5.

I have my MP hooked up to the soundcard without the need for any interfaces. 
I have the AF OUT from the MP connected to the LINE IN on the soundcard. The 
SPEAKER on the soundcard is connected to the PATCH on the MP. I use stereo 
cables from Radio Shack. When I transmit I use VOX.

I have run Hamscope, MixW, DigiPan, MT63 and MTTY. I have operated PSK, 
AMTOR, PACTOR, CW, etc without any problems.

I guess I just don't understand why MP owners are still buying interfaces?
