I just re-read my Mark V manual, PG.76 and it
says under section (I.) Contest Keyer Control-

The MARK-V FT-1000MP includes a contest memory
keyer which includes a number of automated
features which reduce operator fatigue during
long hours of contest operating.

The beginning of page 76 says under (Introduction)-

You can select and activate various transceiver
functions via the optional FH-1 Remote Control
Keypad (available from your Yaesu dealer) connected
to the REMOTE jack on the rear panel of the
transceiver.

I could not explain my previous e-mail any different
than the manual explains it. I think there are some
good hints on how to use the internal keyer with the
FH-1 on the very useful VA3CR.net website.

In the Mark V manuel page 76 it indicates one of the available features of
the FH-1 is a contest memory keyer to reduce operator fatigue.

It offers 6 CW message memories that can be used to store callsigns or any
other repetitive message. The problem seems it alters the weighting of the
memory keyer.

With this in mind can you explain your comment?
