Antero, your problem sounds similar to the chirp problem that arises in 
MPs without built-in power supplies.  Shortening the DC cable may help 
somewhat, but soldering the leads between the DC cable and  the fuse 
holders and putting a 0.01uF disc capacitor across the terminals of the 
DC supply finally solved the problem for me.
