I had the exact same problem with my MP. I eventually diagnosed it as rf
feedback. The problem improved a bit by using clip-on ferrite chokes on the
leads in and out of the rig.
The problem disappeared completely when I moved to a different QTH where my
antennas are now much farther away from the shack (50 meters).
I always run my rig on mains power, but I have heard that the MP is more
sensitive to this problem when DC powered.
