Bill
you have a great rf ground on your station, but not on your electrical
service and wiring through out the house. At least as far as rf is
concerned. I had the same problem here on 160 and 80 meters, lots of rf hum
when transmitting and all the chained smoke alarm-CO2 alarms tripping. I was
lucky in my fix. I didn't want to tie the station rf ground together with
the AC ground system, so what I did was install (3) additional 8 ft grounds
6 feet apart from each other and bond them all together, I then added a
additional #2 copper wire from the electrical panel bonding strip to the
copper water line and installed jumpers around any joints in the water line
up to the meter. Result all clean now. Your results are going to vary due to
soil conditions etc at your location. I will add a little more info on this
when I get more time, as have to run right now. I am a electrical
contractor/ ex engineer here.
