Hi Leo,

Glad I was able to be of some help. The dual keying lines on the Heil FS-2
are intended for use as an alternative to a keying buffer when driving an
older valve amplifier with high keying voltage/current from a modern
solid-state exciter.

The Quadra is a great amplifier. I purchased mine in November 1998, and
drive it with an Icom IC-756Pro II. The Quadra is quiet, efficient and
cool-running. The automatic band selection and keying work fine, but some of
the features do not carry over:

 - remote power on/off switching from the exciter
 - automatic antenna selection by band
 - automatic generation of an 80 ~ 100W CW tuning carrier by the exciter
(irrespective of current operating mode). I have to select RTTY mode before
pressing F SET or TUNE.

Hi Adam,
I have my FT1000MP and VL-1000 connected exactly as per the Amp manual.
Because I found it strange to have the foot switch with 2 PTT connections
(one to the 1000MP and the other to the Quadra) I raised the question. I'm
glad you put me in the right track, hi! Thanks for your prompt assistance.
