[1000mp] Recording from headphone jack

I am having really good results recording contests, using Rec-All Pro and
an SB-16 PCI basic sound card. Because I often operate with two radios in
contests, I need to record from the headphone jack of my SO2R audio
switchbox, which does a straight passthrough of audio from the radios, one
of which is a Mark 5.
My only problem is that when I'm using headphones at a comfortable level,
the audio level is a little low going into the sound card. I have plenty
of room left on the audio gain controls on both radios, so I'm debating
just turning them both up and then using a voltage divider to bring the
level for the headphones back down to what I need. Are there
considerations of impedance matching and/or harm to the audio output
amplifier that I need to consider in doing this? Say, for example, that I
wish to reduce the audio voltage to the headphones by a factor of 2 --
would I be safe just using 100 ohms in each leg of the voltage divider? Or
should I use some other value?
I know I could use the AF line outputs on the back of the Mark 5, but since
I wish to record the output from both radios that's not "on."
