Jor KK4TR: LOL  I am chill'n & enjoying the field.
Hans: ah so I am not the only one who notices  3 IF stages! This is my first
DSP Rig but I figured 4 IF's  then the DSP.
I don't have a 1000D to comment on However I did have a FT990, the
differences in the Field & 990 where Negligible to me. I figured the Field
would hear things the 990 did not, but that was not the case for me. Just
doing A/B comparisons on the 2 rigs with a Vertical.
I did switch off  / on the DSP & Tuned / Flat front end.
probably the only thing I miss on the Field is a NB that works for band
noise & the weighted VFO Knob.
