The brochure of the FT-1000D tells me that the circuit type of the receiver
is a quad-conversion superheterodyne. With intermediate frequencies on 73.62
and 8.215 MHz, 455 and 100 kHz.

The manual of the FT-1000MP Mark V tells me that the circuit type of the
main receiver is a quad-conversion superheterodyne. With intermediate
frequencies on 70.455 and 8.215 MHz, 455 kHz. Confusing...

Fig. 1-10 on page 8 of the Technical Overview (by all means an excellent,
almost indispensible supplement of the Operating Manual) there is an
interesting block diagram of the Mark V.

Again three intermediate frequencies (70.455, 8.215, 455) and after the 4th
local mixer the EDSP with 10.24 kHz A/D converter.

Yeasu means: Quad-conversion receiver in the Mark V with the EDSP
switched on and Triple-conversion receiver with the EDSP switched off.

When I compare the FT-1000D with the FT-1000MP Mark V I notice some
differences where the FT-1000D benefits; e.g. the receiver is more quiet.

I am not able to compare the FT-1000MP Mark V Field with one of the other
two mentioned rigs.
