[1000mp] Heil Cartridge

I use the Heil DX cartridge with my MP and have gotten excellent audio 
reports, although it took me a while to set up the menu on the 1000.   You can not 
expect to just plug and play.  Many factors come into play here.  The sound of 
the operators voice determines the settings for the compression and more 
importantly the menu settings which control the 'sound' of the audio.
I set mine up using the second 1000 as the monitor, constantly adjusting the 
menu settings until I got something that was punchy but not overwhelming.  I 
then checked it out on the air to confirm what I thought.
When I first bought my Yaesu, I thought i could not beat my Icom 775 for the 
nice audio it had, but the 1000MP and the same DX cartridge actually sound 
better.
