Not exactly on-topic, but an addendum on VE7FO's comment on BeaconSee:
For the beacon station/frequency matrix to be of use, one must know which
beacons are functioning! Beacon info, INCLUDING CURRENT STATUS is at
http://www.ncdxf.org/beacon/beaconSchedule.htm
It is said that the list is updated daily, but this should be checkd.
The schedule currently indicates that more than a third of the beacons are
down or impaired:
OFF--W6WX, 4S7B, ZS6DN, OH2B, OA4B
"garbled"--RR9O
Intermittent--5Z4B
No WARC--KH6WO.
I first noticed the absence of W6WX---since it is only a mile away, there
was no question of propagation--and pursued the matter further.
Thanks to AB6WM of NCDXF for pointing me to the schedule page.
Garry, NI6T
