<"Were you Uncomfortable performing the mod due to the disassembly =
required? Are the
<Inrad instructions satisfactory? Did everything go back together OK? =
Any
<misgivings about doing it?

<Thanks.

I have the Mark V. I did the Inrad mod a few days ago. I usually enjoy =
the tinkering
with the radios :-) It was not too bad but I took a few closeup digital =
photos as I=20
disassembled it for reference on what everything looked like going in.

The MP MK V instructions on the heat sink removal were vague compared to =
the MP
and they mentioned the MK 5 may differ but had no details.
It took a bit of lifting and flashlite work to find those two heat sink =
tabs with screws that are pretty
well hidden and down into the radio a bit. I would have liked a diagram =
of where those
were and you absolutley need a magnetic phillps screwdriver to remove =
and reinstall
the screws as you can not hold them with fingers with the minimal =
clearance available.
The ribbon cable socket snap is rather fragile and only needs to be =
gently lifted.
My copy of the solder points on the bottom of the MK V RF board were a =
bit dark and
not as sharp and may have been possibly due to copy of a copy. That and =
the heat
sink/fan removal on the MK V could be improved if interested in =
suggestions.

Best of all, the radio worked when reassembled and no screws left over =
... ;-0
