Barry,

Is there any problem mixing Yaesu and Inrad filters? I presently have
several Yaesu cw filters in the Mark V, and am not satisfied with the
results. However, rather than replace them with Inrad filters, I would like
simply supplement them with some additional Inrad filters. Any thoughts?

Lately I switched my 400hz 455khz (3rd) if filter for the 500hz Collins
mechanical filter and finding it smoother to listen to and better for
running (i.e., able to hear slightly off-freq callers). My first choice to
tighten things up is 250hz 2nd if and 500hz Collins 3rd if, a great
combination, which I prefer 99% of the time compared to the 250hz/250hz
combination.

I know some ops prefer to really tighten things up on cw, but I'm not one of

them (even on 160M).
