[1000mp] What a BLAST !!

     Hi Gang

I built a sound board interface for my 1000mp MK5 Field (From plans
on VA3CRs website) last week. I was having a nice chat on PSK
(My third QSO on PSK) when the fellow asked me if I was going to
work the RTTY contest. I told him I didn't even know there WAS a
contest.....to which he replied that it started in 3 minutes!!! I quickly
signed off with him to make room. I got to playing with the PSK software
(Zakanaka) and found that it CLAIMED to work RTTY as well as PSK.
So I set it up for RTTY (Made up some macros for contest exchanges
(Took about 5 minutes)) and I started tuning around to see if it would
decode RTTY (ot really expecting it to be THAT easy).........and
shazzzzzzaaaaaam !!! It worked!! I've had a real BLAST playing RTTY
this weekend. By the time the contest ended (I worked about 6 hours
of it) I had 128 RTTY contacts.......19 countries and 33 states !!!!!!!!!!

If any of you had tossed the idea around.......I STRONGLY advise you
to give it a try!! It's VERY easy to get going. And if you DO want to give
it a try (Zakanaka and Logger) RULES !!!  (Won't work with XP or Win NT)
