[1000mp] MP Clicks

Since some folks report that their rigs have clicks and others report
that their rigs are clean, could it be that Yaesu has made some changes
in the circuitry to address the problem in recent production units? I
doubt that Yaesu would want to publicly say anything about it, but it
would sure be great if someone with contacts with Yaesu techs could get
some "informal" info on this idea.

I've been planning to buy a MK5, but am not eager to do so until I can
be sure that the click issue has been acknowledged and addressed by
Yaesu. I have recently thought I might even spring for the new Ten Tec
Orion, but I'm not about to lay out 3 kilobucks for a radio that might
also add to the click pollution on the bands. My old TS-940 doesn't
click. Neither does my Viking Ranger with which I've been operating on
CW since 1957! Too bad that E.F.Johnson and Kenwood both stopped making
good HF radios. 8^)

73 and Happy New Year...even to those of you with clicky radios! 8^)
