Hello Markus,
On page 12 of the manual (section 4.5) of the TL-922 you will find an
instruction how to adjust the ALC ADJ control.
In combination with the Mark V you have to be careful because of the 200
Watts output and not to damage your TL-922. That's the reason I adjusted the
ALC.
I adjusted the ALC (on the rear side of the TL-922) in such way that the
Mark V does not deliver more power then about 75 Watts. You are able to do
this with the ALC ADJ at the rear of the TL-922.
Of course you have to connect the ALC OUT jack of the TL-922 to the EXT ALC
of the Mark V.
Connect your Mark V with TL-922 on a dummy load.
First set the power output of your Mark V half way, at about 100 Watts.
Then set your TL-922 to OPERATE and tune correctly.
Start adjusting the ALC ADJ on the lowest level of power output. You will
see this happen on the Mark V. Because of the fact that you have set your
Mark V to about 100 Watts you don't have to be afraid that the power input
to your TL-922 is too high.
Adjust the ALC ADJ and look on the power display of the Mark V. Look very
carefully what is happening. Try to do this several times.
Adjust the Mark V to the maximum power (200 Watts), but be certain that the
ALC ADJ level is not too high!!
Then adjust the ALC ADJ to the desired power output level. Always start at
the lowest power and adjust the ALC ADJ untill you have got the desired
power output level.
Do the same adjustment with the Mark V into Class A.
Try to reach the optimum for legal power output of the TL-922.
If you have any further questions just drop me an e-mail.
Good luck!
73, Hans Remeeus.
