[1000mp] Sticky relay? - I suggest not

(resent with typo correction "with xmitting" in second paragraph should have
read "without xmitting" - sorry)

There was a thread on this subject a while back, and it was termed the "deaf
receive" problem. Occasionally in contests while running (cq'ing), the
receiver seems deaf after ending a xmsn. The receiver doesn't go totally
deaf, just loses 20+dB of gain. Often sending a dit will fix the problem.

But sometimes I've heard it correct itself without xmitting, and I could
clearly hear the gain come back slowly (a few seconds), not suddenly.

Without a lot of hard data as basis, I'd like to suggest that this is a
receiver gain control issue and not a relay problem. I've owned two
mid-late MP's and besides the deaf receive problem, in both radios I've seen
AGC anomalies such as VERY slow recovery in "fast" AGC (especially while rig
is warming up) during QSK (fine in slow AGC).
