My 1000mp recently developed a problem and I sent it back to Yaesu for
service. A phone call to them indicated about a two week turn around for MP
repair (they did ask what radio I had). I have had my MP since '95 with no
problems till this point. It had developed low output on the higher bands.
They received my radio on a Monday and called me on Wednesday with the total
cost and to tell me the radio was repaired. The radio was shipped back to me
on Friday of the same week. A card from Yaesu came in the mail on that
Saturday (day after radio was shipped) with the work order number. I called
Yaesu and got the UPS tracking number. Total time from shipping to return
was less than 3 weeks (most of the time riding in UPS).
The radio has been checked out and works FB as far as I have checked. They
sent back the 'dead' parts (2 driver transisitors, another on the same board
and two coils they changed to perform the 15 tuner mod). The list of parts
had no notations - only parts and costs including 2 hours bench time. I
should mention that I have the Inrad mod in the radio and Inrad filters and
Yaeua did not remove or change anything in that regard.
