[1000mp] CW question

Hi Scott,

I am sure it is "cockpit trouble" on my part.

Yes, I will publish the results here and on the Icom list.

I will say this, I am impressed with the 1000 so far. I
really cannot compare it against the PRO II until I fill the
MP with all the filters. The CW filter is on the way now.

One of the things that I like about the MP is the size and the
fact that it looks like a real radio and not a TV set. It
also sounds excellent to my old ears.

A question for the group. The display seems much dimmer than
I am accustomed to and it is set on high. After it is on
about 10 min, it does brighten somewhat.

My new FT 920 does the same thing on warm up but it is really
bright.

If anyone is interested, I have posted the review of the
Kenwood TS2000 on my web site. The KW boys are on my back but
I just told it like it is..

When the XYL first saw the MP her comment was gee, that looks
like a radio man's radio.....

Bill,
I certainly hope get this straightened out before you publish
your test
results of the Mark V Field vs. the ProII on the Icom mailing
list.
Hopefully, you'll be generous enough to share the results with
us here on
the MP list, too. I'm hoping the Field will be able to hold
it's own against
the mighty ProII, which some (on the Icom list) have called
the finest radio
ever made.

73,
Scott, W9AL
