[1000mp] Sudden FP-29 failure

Hi,
I am not familiar with FP-29. If we assume that it is similar to
the internal power supply
in the FT 1000 MP (??), the most expensive part is probably the
transformer. It may be
worth looking at the schematic for details. The failure may have
damaged or destroyed the
printed circuit board as well. However, frequently this can be
patched unless the board turned
char coal.
It may the same as going to a car dealer to replace the spark
plugs. They charge a whole
bunch more than the part cost at any auto parts store.
My guess (!!!) is that the failure is semiconductor related.
Good luck.
