Hi Vidi,
I usually get around 500 to 675 watts depending on the band, I also bought
mine used about 1 1/2 ago, I bought it from a dealer and when I got it did
not work so I sent it back to Yaesu and the dealer pickup the cost of
repair, it is just like new, the only problem I dislike about it is the time
it takes to tune, I have very low swr on my antennas so it works great. I
generally don't run it full I lower the drive on the 1000mp and it runs very
cool at 400 watts. I think that should be enough power. If you do a google
search on fl-7000 you can find the mods and manual online.

Hi Craig
Thank you for putting me in the picture. I bought a used 4 button model a
week ago and am still getting used to operate it. Had a problem with the PSU
which only gave 15V to the transistors. The previous owner knew about it and
warned me. I found a lug on the passing xistors lightly touching the heat
sink, under that small bundle of wires, bent them up and problem solved. I
am very impressed with the way this piece of gear is constructed. I had to
re align the various settings and had a little problem setting the ALC part.
The ALC pot at the back of the amp and the trim pot under the cover seem to
interact and I don't know where to set the one on the rear. I did however
manage to get a combination of the internal and external settings so that I
do not overdrive the amp. My initial impressions are very good. I bought
it unseen from a guy 1200km north of here but am very happy. I use it in
combination with a FT1000MP and the auto band switching is superb. However
I find that if I manually set the tuner to get rid of that last little SWR,
that setting is not remembered by the amplifier 'brain'.
What power do you get from yours? If I push this one I get 700 out as
measured on an external Bird watt meter but limit it to about 600 max.
