[1000mp] FT1000MP Tx Audio Present in Speaker Audio

I have an FT1000MP and am experiencing the following problem.
When I transmit on SSB I can hear my voice (in the background) on the rig's
speaker.
I use an external speaker (SP950), but it is also present when using the rigs
own internal speaker. 
Moni is off and audio is also present even when running into a dummy load.
Sure i've seen something on this before, but my own
unit is now quite bad and loud. It's deteriorated more during the past few
months, to the point of being nearly unusable.
As far as I can see the TX audio is not affected, but the large "Thump" and
"Crackle" when I key up is pretty annoying. Tried ferrite's etc on audio and 
mic
leads but no change.
Running with MD100 mic - have changed to stock mic and no difference.
It's as if something isn't switching off when the TX engages.
Any help greatly appreciated.
