Please note that it's been reported that the Inrad IF amplifier mod makes
the 1000MP receiver intermod performance about 20 dB worse. It's from Tom

From W8JI's web page http://w8ji.com:
FT1000 owners pay attention to the noise blanker problem. This problem
occurs with the noise blanker OFF. The FT-1000MP data has changed from the
original posting. The transceiver I measured had a common aftermarket
modification where a 70MHz IF amplifier is added. This modification reduces
close-spaced two-tone IM dynamic range by approximately 10dB!!** The 1000MP
is much closer to the 1000D without that mod.

Subject: [1000mp] Menu help
Hello,
I'm in the process of digging into some of the extended menu settings.
I find some thingsin the manual poor explained, so I refer to the
experienced users :
menu 84 (frontend RF amp section)
I tried this (is set to FLAT here) and I only see a S-meter increase mostly
on 10 meters.
Some signals getting stronger, but background noise rises to.
Tommorow I guess my IF mod will arrive, has this have to do something with
eachother ?
Help in choosing FLAT or TUNED appreciated ...
menu 85 (user settings)
to hard to understand, manual lacks of info, help appreciated ...
menu 86 (receive carrier)
what is the default value, and is this for the 3th IF ? (455 Khz)
what is the EASY SET ? help appreciated...
Thanks for any help in advance
