If you check the schematics that come with the radio, you'll find that
the rx antenna input is opened during transmit.

I don't use a "front end saver" circuit external to the radio (although
it's a good idea to) and have had no problems using Beverages or Pennants
into the rx antenna jack while running a KW out to my verticals.
