[1000mp] receive go blewey

Has anyone else experienced my situation?  Ive got a MKV bought at =
Dayton 2001.  Never been a problem. Worked some contests and took it =
down to Aruba.  Today I hooked it up and worked zl7c and it seemed like =
there was a relay hanging or something.  got a "white noise" squelch =
tail when I stopped transmitting and delay in picking up receive =
signals. (not a big delay but irritating).  After this happened receive =
went down but was still there.  Now the receive is gone. There is a bit =
of crackling in the speaker every once in a while.  Yes there was a =
burnt/ hot smell.  any clues as to what blew?  did the tuner go on =
strike? (yes I was usuing the tuner at the time to a g5rv).
