Hello Hart,

Advise what I can give you:

Check the serial number for the age of the 1000D.

Check if all the options are installed.

Look on the rear side if you see a lot of dust near the ventilator shafts.
If this is the case then the rig has many operating hours.

Look on the buttons of the four filters. You will see if the rig is operated
much.

Look inside if you don't see any damages on the PCB, interconnections and
cables, a lot of dust or nicotine.

Take a good look at the screws to open the 1000D. How do they look like;
damaged or unused?

Look at the display; do you see any dust behind it?

Take your time to listen on all the amateur bands; do you notice any
differences between the bands or noticeable receiver noise? Use the Front
End switch for this purpose.

Take along a powermeter and a dummy load. Try the output on all the amateur
radio bands.

Try all settings if they work proper.

Advise for filters in the 455 kHz IF:
Inrad 2.8
Inrad 2.1
Inrad 1000 (in this case you have to install the same filter in the 8.2 MHz
IF)
Inrad 400 (in this case you have to install the same filter in the 8.2 MHz
IF)

Or:
Inrad 2.8
Yaesu 2.0
Yaesu 500
Yaesu 250

Don't forget to eat some spinach before carrying your 1000D...

Good luck and 73!
Hans Remeeus.
