[1000mp] front end protection

I have had a few problems with my MP's front end when I take it to a multi
transmitter contest site. Usually I loose a resistor in the attenuator
circuit that opens or worst case (1 time), it got the filter board (about
$130 repair)...it is caused by operator error...the op selects the band that
the other station on the premises is on and pfffff! (running KW on both
stations....antennas are about 100ft apart...we use filters....it is just
when an op screws up and selects the wrong band when changing bands)

Does anyone know of any extra protection I could install to keep this from
happening?
