I had a similar experience recently, I keyed the rig on 10 meters 
when I accidently had the tuner switch set to the (open-wire-fed) 30 
meter loop position. All the VFO memories were immediately wiped out, 
set back to default.

RF in the shack can cause interesting things with this radio.
