[1000mp] computer control problem

Tom/W1TO wins the prize... Not sure exactly what was going on but the front panel did NOT indicate it was in mem mode. I started on 15m. Pressing the mem/vfo button switched to an AM station on 880 KHz(stored in a memory channel), pressing it again changed it to 28013.7(see below), and after a few switches back and forth whatever was going on has been cleared up.
I wasn't looking forward to replace parts... thanks for the various suggestions and hints!
