To be fair, I sent my Mark 5 in the original packing (double carton) and 
when it came back all of that was still there, and a new, tight-fitting 
outer carton had been added for additional protection.  Couldn't ask for 
better.  Sounds to me like they have a quality control problem in this 
aspect of things.
