Thanks to those that responded regarding my MP's problem.

I think I have it fixed.  The HPF board seemed to be the culprit.  Tapping 
around on a couple of the smalll Matsushita relays seemed to make the 
problem come and go.   So I pulled the board and did some touch up 
resoldering of the relay lands, etc. hoping it might have been a cold or 
poor solder joint.     Either my resoldering or the flexing of the 
board  during removal/replacement seems to have resolved the problem.  In 
any case I can't recreate the problem now.  Lets hope it holds....
