In this mode, the 1000MP does not know that you that you're using PSK; it's just passing the sound card tones through it's modulator.

You _do_ have to set the proper offsets in menu 8-6 USER mode for PS31-Su.

Then you should press the USER button, not USB, to setup for PSK31, etc.

Also, I presume, you adjusted the mic gain for your soundblaster/RASCAL level!?

You might try listening to the audio to hear if it sounds like a PSK31, MFSK, etc. Have you heard good transmissions. If you use Stream (IZ8BLY), you can hear any mode thru your computer without actually transmitting (Digipan, for some reason, is silent).
