[1000mp] Noise Blankers and IMD

The real point is this....
If you work CW and listen to weak signals on crowded bands, if you
hear someone who seems excessively wide or has spurs, or if you have
gibberish phantom CW signals bleeping and blooping on various spots
on crowded bands (especially during contests or near large DX
pileups), remember to reach up and be sure you have the NB gain
control on the MP turned down. On the 1000D, be sure you modify the
noise blanker to remove forward bias when not using the blanker.
Without doing that the, QRM we hear at that particular moment might
really not actually be there.
In my opinion it would be better to spend 25 cents and fix the
problem, rather than having to quickly recognize internal IM and
remembering to check the blanker gain knob, but at least everyone
should be aware it can be a problem under the right conditions.73,
