I subscribe to many mailing lists, usually sending a number of 
replies each day, and I have no problem with spending the few extra 
seconds to look at the "To:" line on my message before I send it, 
just to make sure it's going where I desire.

I think it's nothing but a common courtesy to the recipients of my 
e-mail, to make sure the mail goes to the proper destination.

Yes, and someday, with developments in fuzzy logic and artificial 
intelligence, we'll have computers that know that we really didn't 
mean to hit that wrong key, and will do the thing we really meant to 
do, instead of the thing we told it to do.

Until then, though, we're going to have to put forth that little 
extra effort to ensure accuracy of our actions.
