I'm glad Tom posted that.  I hate solid wire for pigtails, and he confirms 
my belief that a large stranded conductor with relatively few wires and a 
relatively low twist rate is pretty close in RF performance.  I bought a 
3-foot length of 100 amp AC service wire, and got 3 big, supple, stranded 
conductors out of it for equipment grounds.
