I believe that braid and flat Cu will be equal in performace at HF to VHF. I
also use heavy power wire such as AWG 2, 0, and 00 for my grounds outdoors
as the insulation stands up well to the weather and sun. I use braid indoors
because it is more flexible,
At 900MHz and higher, the lower inductance of very wide flat Cu probably helps.
