[1000mp] Keyer stuff

I remember seeing stuff about the internal keyer Earl.
It may well have been over 4 years up to 5 years.
I have never experienced this problem, but then I use
an external keyer. I did use the internal when  I kirst go
the rig , but not for long.
At the risk of being scorned, laughed at, flamed etc...
could this have anything to do with the problems encountered
when the key is plugged in the front of the radio, instead of the back?
  There was quite a bit of talk about that at one point, where I seemed to 
remember
people were having keying problems and that seemed to fix it.
